Like 1 2 hours ago permalink Horshack Whether or not the firmware update will translate into faster buffer clearing times (and commensurately, deeper buffers) will depend on where the bottleneck is in those cameras - Expeed, XQDCFE, andor internal memory bus.Since then, we havent heard a word about these development from Nikon, but Nikon Rumors says it can confirm the much-anticipated firmware update will arrive before the end of the year.Nikon Rumors says Nikon may say something about these updates this coming week when it launches its Z6 II and Z7 II mirrorless cameras. While CFExpress Type B support will make it easier to use the open and more popular format not to mentioned larger maximum capacities, since XQD cards top out at 240GB compared to the current 1TB maximum capacity of CFExpress cards it doesnt necessarily well expect improved speeds over using XQD cards when using them inside the camera.
Latest Nikon D500 Firmware Update Will TranslateHowever, you will see improved speeds over XQD cards when importing the cards to your computer if youre using a CFExpress Type B memory card reader. We will update this article if we get any further information from Nikon. Shet. Like 0 3 hours ago permalink BlindasaBat Heard that one before from Nikon. Tried it in 2019 Like 2 4 hours ago permalink onlyfreeman It seems like there will be no end to 2020. Like 4 4 hours ago permalink Txoni Isnt that logo the one for CF Express type C though Like 2 5 hours ago permalink Mariano Pacifico Nikon promised firmware update in the beginning of 2019 and will be implemented and released before the end of 2020. Two years Two years Like 6 5 hours ago permalink Horshack The firmware will be released on the same day Nikon announces the discontinuation of those models Like 5 5 hours ago permalink entoman Havent they already been discontinued Like 2 5 hours ago permalink AdamT Theyd be mistaken in the extreme to discontinue the D850. IMO its the best general use Camera for the working photographer. Like 8 5 hours ago permalink entoman AdamT - Yes, the D850 is probably the best DSLR that any company has ever made. I feel much the same way about the Canon 5DMkiv, in as much as its the best camera Canon has yet made. ![]() I really do wish that Nikon and Canon would produce further semi-pro and pro DSLRs, instead of handing the market over to Pentax. Like 2 4 hours ago permalink AdamT The R5 (when the Niggles are sorted anyway) looks like the closest thing in Mirrorless to the D850 as a general use working tool. IMO Nikon will have to work a miracle with the Mk2 Zs to get there. Nikon only need to keep on making the D850 - Canon could Tough up the 5D4 a bit (make it more 1DX3 without the grip) and use the R5 sensor. Like 2 4 hours ago permalink Mariano Pacifico IMO its the best general use Camera for the working photographer. ADAMT working photographer leaves a bad taste in the mouth. It means hand-to-mouth existence trolling-for-shoot living in working-class neighborhood instead of bedroom-and-gated community where everybody just sleep all day while working-class people from working-class neighborhood manicure their front loans. Like 0 2 hours ago permalink entoman AdamT - Yes if I was going to get a MILC, the R5 would probably be the one Id get, but really its overkill for me. I dont need 8K or 20fps, and I dont really need anything more than 30MP for 99 of my photography. The 5DMkiv is plenty tough enough to handle all the accidental abuse that my cameras receive, but Id definitely like more DR, less high ISO noise, and a shutter that was quieter.
